This is our short clip about the 10 horror clips to include that create a tense atmosphere.
The purpose of this exercise was to experiment with the 10 top horror shots. In the clip above is our groups creation of a short horror film using the 10 horror shots which are:
1. OFF KILTER : 0:38
2. OVER THE SHOULDER SHOT OF THE KILLER: 0:00
3. CLOSE UP ON WEAPON: 0:50
4. CLOSE UP/EXTREME CLOSE UP OF FEAR: 0:38
5. 360 DEGREE SHOT TO SHOW ISOLATION/FEAR: 0:38
6. HIGH ANGLE SHOT TO SHOW VICTIM'S VULNERABILITY: 1:11
7. LOW ANGLE SHOT TO SHOW THE POWER OF THE KILLER: 1:09
8. HOW TO STAB SOMEONE WITHOUT HURTING THEM: -
9. POINT OF VIEW OF VICTIM AND KILLER AS VICTIM CRAWLS AWAY ON HER BACK AND KILLER APPROACHES: -
10. USE THE POWER OF SUGGESTION: 1:19
Due to separate lessons, our filming had a few continuity errors which affected the outcome of the clip. The filming was taken over a period of 2 days, over those two days we had encountered a dry day and a wet day. It would've made sense to film all floor involvement filming on the dry day however we did not know the following day would be wet. Due to lack of initiative and bad weather, we were unable to complete all 10 shots. Although we did try to complete as many of the 10 that we could with the film that we had prepared to edit. Also another continuity error is the sudden change of clothing between the first half of the clip and the second.
Below is a clip of all 10 horror shots executed at a high standard, which our group will hopefully perform at the same standard to produce a relatively persuasive, realistic OTS.
